Feeding your Kids for FREE (or Cheap!) in FoCo!

Sam and I are of the rare breed that actually enjoy taking our kids out to eat. It’s our Friday night family night ritual! Some nights can be rough (i.e. ends with screaming and fight club), but most times we’ve enjoyed our rhythm as a family to get out and reconnect after a busy week. I know going out to eat can feel expensive, but I like to think we have figured it out so that it’s fairly cheap for our family (since you know the kids will probably eat maybe half a quesadilla.) Without further ado, here are some CHEAP or FREE nights for your kids to eat out!
Ground Rules of Pretty much all Kids Eat Free Incentives – You gotta buy an adult entrée with each free kids meal. That’s it!
Blue Agave:
Kids Menu is only $6/kid- comes with a Drink, Meal, and Dessert! We Love Blue Agave! One of our favorites and they have a killer Happy Hour. Our biggest hack is to make a reservation during happy hour (M-F 3-6pm, all Day Tuesdays), order mostly off the Happy Hour menu and a couple of kids meals, you’ll get out of there for under $65. Sounds like a good cheap way to feed the fam (and get a killer margarita!)
DC OAKES:
We LOVE DC Oakes (any PB&J Burger Fans out there?!) – My opinion, best burger in town. They have a Kids Eat Free night on Tuesdays! If you line this up with their happy Hour, You can get a beer For $4 and feed your kids Mac and Cheese Fo’ Free. P.S. The moment you sit down, request Goldfish as a snack for those kiddos (they come with their meal for free.) That way, no one is whining while waiting for the actual meal. The Kids meal also comes with a drink and a Cup of Ice Cream!
Penrose Taphouse & Eatery:
Kids Eat Free WEDNESDAY. If you love DC Oakes, you’ll love Penrose. This is basically DC Oakes in Old Town Fort Collins. Their menu is very similar to DC Oakes (you can still get a PB&J Burger there, praise!)
Krazy Karl’s:
Mondays or Thursdays is BEAT THE CLOCK - $5 Cheese Pizzas the time you call (i.e. you call at 5.10pm, your total is $5.10!) Toppings are Extra so be careful with those- they vary from $1-$4! Fun Fact: If you call at 4pm, you can still utilize BTC you just pay a flat fee of $5!

Café Mexicali –
Looking for a simple option on a Monday Night? Café Mex offers a free Kids Meal (Quesadillas, anyone?) on Mondays! Because, really, who has anything meal planned on Monday?
Retreat Bakery –
I have not personally tried this Bakery (Glutards unite!), but I’ve heard good things. On Wednesdays they offer FREE cookies to Kids, and no purchase necessary! They do require that you have to be with them to get the free cookie (otherwise, it’s just creepy…)
Snack Attack –
Don’t let the name fool you; This place is no small snack joint! They have killer sandwiches and burgers. On Thursdays, they offer BOGO Burgers for Dine in! In addition, MONDAYS kids meals are half off with the purchase of an adult entrée! Our kiddos love their grilled cheese.
Island Grill –
This is a fun Fort Collins Staple that’s been around forever. Remember those Accordion Style Bench Chairs? Yep, they have those there, and they kill your back but it totally adds to the 90s ambiance. Island Grille has great bar food, fish tacos, and live music! If you’re looking for a SUNDAY spot for the kids to eat free, from 5-8pm Kids under 12 eat free!
